Instead of offering study programmes separately, Graz University of Technology and the University of Graz started to offer joint NAWI Graz study programmes in the areas of Bioscience, Chemistry, Earth, Space and Environmental Sciences, Mathematics and Physics from 2006 on.

These joint study programmes create an added value for all students by e.g. enhancing choices for specialization, increasing quality of programmes or simply by enhancing the spectrum of studying possibilities. As of winter term 2017, 21 joint NAWI Graz bachelor and master study programmes with a total of 5.300 students will be offered.

Going international

The current internationalisation strategy of NAWI Graz has led to the further development of selected NAWI Graz master’s study programmes. After a complete revision, the seven NAWI Graz master study programmes Advanced Materials Science, Biotechnology, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Technical Chemistry and Technical Physics are offered exclusively in English. This means English courses, exams and master theses. All seven master study programmes comprise four semesters (this equals 120 ECTS credits) and consist of one stage of study. Graduates are awarded the degree of “Diplom-Ingenieurin” (female) or “Diplom-Ingenieur” (male), which is internationally equivalent to a “Master of Science” (“MSc”) degree. One programme (Physics) ends with a MSc degree.
